Hello.

My name is Holly Painter, and I am the poet in Hire a Poet. I hold a BA in English and Philosophy from the University of Southern California and an MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from the University of Canterbury (Christchurch, New Zealand). I’ve taught English and Creative Writing at several community colleges in Southeast Michigan, and I’m also a copy-editor. I currently volunteer and intern at 826michigan, helping kids develop their creative writing skills.

And I write poems. Obviously. I have two books of poetry coming out in the next year: Wanderlust (Kekeno Independent Press) and Excerpts from a Natural History (Night Bomb Press).
